TechTamers’ New Look
ByWelcome to the first of our sites with our new look. There’s a new logo, new interface, new photos.
Notice that we’ve added the buttons down the side so that it’s easier for you to add the blog to your Reader sites, like MyYahoo.
And we’ve added links to many of our significant other sites – both across the top and on the side menus.
I’d love to hear your feedback on the new look. Just click and add your comments.
Here’s to your Online Success!
Jeanette

Hi Jeanette,
Your new blog looks fantastic! I love it!
It was great seeing you in LA. You’re right, it was a highly informative event… especially for an unheard of price of $1. They gave us a lot of good content.
The networking was terrific too. I found a number of people that I’ll be working with for years to come.
Blessings to you,
Jean Welles

Jeanette,
Love your new site. And the best thing about it is, it’s a blog! I would love to put my site on a blog for 2 reasons. The first reason is that I wouldn’t need my web master every time I have new content, I could just type it in my blog – ingenious! And the second reason is that it would get a higher ranking in the search engines. Love it!
Jeannette, how about doing a teleseminar about how to take your website and put it on a blog? I’ll be the first to sign up.

Gordon, you are so correct. I pondered that for about 2 seconds late last night, then went with the wrong choice. So thanks for pointing that out. Guess I was thinking mountains!

Joanne – thanks for the idea. That *would* be a good course. I’m thinking maybe 2-3 sessions, so that everyone has a chance to actually do the work, get their questions answered, then use the new system for a week or so.
I put it off myself thinking it was too much work to learn yet another system, but it turns out to be pretty easy, once it’s set up correctly.
Watch for that course offering!

Hi Jeanette!
It was so much fun seeing you at the Customer Appreciation Seminar. Your dedication to your students and their success is deserving of public accolade. As one of your learners I appreciate your willingness to share your latest adventures with us.
I love the look of your new site. The “Tamer” metaphor survives riding into your new look on your mouse! How cool is that! I also like the easy maneuverability of the blog/web and I am looking forward to your new course!

Likewise, Megan! It was so nice to have time to just sit and chat and get to know one another, as well as our fellow participants. As you said, it’s one thing to talk on the phone every week for a course – and quite another to sit face-to-face talking about whatever. That’s one of the reasons I am such a huge proponent of attending seminars – nothing takes the place of personal contact.
Thanks again for your support!

Hi Jeanette,
I think you should keep a banner with your picture. It helps to associate a face with content. I can’t stress that enough.
Also, the RSS button has some html on it.
Jim and Rosalind seem to benefit from face recognition, and I believe that you would too.
(My own site sure has to be whittled down.)
For me the more Camtasia “how-to-do-it” videos that you can produce the better.
Also, an audio button (which I thought you had) would be nice. The more you can portray yourself as a family member – so to speak – the more I will buy.
All the best on your very good work. Al.

Wow – valid point, Al. I’ll add my picture to the name squeeze page we’re putting at the front of the site, but hadn’t thought to add it to the header – thought it would be too busy.
One of the issues with any business is whether you’re branding the business or branding yourself. While I do some branding of myself, it’s the business I’m working to build. The better it is positioned the more likely it will be to sell the business in several years. Always a point an entrepreneur has to consider.
I agree – the tutorials really attract visitors and buyers. I have a lot of tutorials, but tend to publish those in my products and for fee services. Again, always a fine line between fee and free. Are there particular topics that would be helpful to you?
Thanks again for your feedback!

Hi Jeanette,
I love the new look! I agree with Al, adding your picture and keeping a link to the audio at the top is a good idea. You have such a great speaking presence and I think the two combined will really help visitors to connect with your warmth as a person.
Your Camtasia videos are excellent! You have the ability to take a complex subject and lay it out for people, step by step. You should have links to Camtasia videos EVERYWHERE on all of your Techtamers pages!
Congratulations on the new look!
