Bilingual Domain Names
ByWith the amount of publicity given to the growth of the Hispanic culture, it’s not a surprise to see Spanish words pop up in unexpected places.
DomainTools.com is now populating suggested domain names with Spanish words. For example, when I searched for domain names with the word “teleseminar” in it, here’s the list I got:
- MioSeminar     Â
- GetBigSeminar     Â
- IperSeminar     Â
- LogHomeSeminar     Â
- NuovoSeminar     Â
- BigSeminarWomen     Â
- PianetaSeminar     Â
- BigHeartSeminar     Â
- VirtualeSeminar     Â
- HomeStudioSeminar     Â
- SuperioreSeminar     Â
- FreeBuyerSeminar     Â
- EccellenteSeminar     Â
- BigSeminarCourse     Â
- TeleSeminarMondo     Â
- OrlandoBigSeminar     Â
- TeleSeminarTerra     Â
- BigSeminarTapes     Â
- TeleSeminarDiretto
Should we be purchasing foreign language domains? If you want to “own” a niche, I think you should definitely consider it. It’s early in the game, but once the dotcom you want is gone, it’s gone.
Here’s a dollar-saving tip: From now till the end of 2006, Dotster has domains on sale 2-for-1 (the second domain costs $1). Plus you can add privacy to any domain for just a dollar. It’s a good bargain here at the end of the year. (Click on the Dollar Days ad for details.)

Jeanette, I enjoy your articles and have made Online Success Secrets my home page. I read one article first thing in the morning to keep me motivated and informed for my new online ventures. Being trilingual and a conference interpreter by orginal profession, I went to this article to see about bilingual domains. Although you listed them as Spanish words in the article, they are actually mostly Italian words! Grazie.
