I've never thought of or heard of anyone else using Messenger to teach. I think webinars are more effective, where you can see my screen as we're talking. That way I can show you what we're talking about. Plus, I can turn over the screen to you so you can show me what you're trying to do. My last course, SellYourBrain.com was very effective using that method. Students loved it, as we walked through the actual WORK of marketing their sites.
